Supply Chain Officer (Purchaser/Buyer/Procurement)


About the Job

The Supply Chain Officer is responsible for managing smooth and efficient end-to-end operation, and leading and ensuring compliance to relevant procedures and policies, for their assigned supply chain activities. Supply Chain activities includes procurement management, order management, inventory and warehousing management, and logistics management. This opening mainly involves Procurement responsibilities.


Responsibilities

  • Manages and processes purchase requests: finalizes specifications or scope, recommends and executes procurement strategies, requests for proposals or manages supplier bidding, reviews proposals, negotiates commercial terms with suppliers, drafts purchase orders or contracts and obtains approvals, schedules and ensures on time delivery, ensures compliance to relevant policies and procedures, ensures complete and proper documentation, and resolves related issues (ex. quality, payment)
  • Manages the supplier lifecycle to optimize the company’s supplier base: identification, accreditation, onboarding, performance monitoring, supplier audits, and supplier relationship management
  • Prepares routine and ad hoc purchasing reports.
  • Analyzes historical spend, supplier performance, market movements and trends, innovations in technology, recurring issues and deviations to standards, as to identify opportunities to improve the company’s competitive advantage through cost, efficiency, quality, supplier reliability, or sustainability.
  • Proactively recommends improvements for the department's processes, equipment, and facilities.
  • Identifies and raises concerns, issues and risks and proactively recommends solutions to mitigate these.
  • Helps formulate, establish, and improve the company’s documents and manuals for Supply Chain to ensure efficiency, food safety, and compliance to regulatory and internationally established standards.
  • Assists and collaborates with other departments in investigating and correcting supply chain related issues.
  • May assist in overseeing the scheduling, assignments, and daily workflow of junior staff.
  • Performs other Supply Chain related duties as assigned.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business, or related courses.
  • Experience in the following will be an advantage: procurement experience in a food manufacturing facility; MS Office Suite/Quickbooks/ERP systems
  • Has strong organizational skills, strong analytical skills, high sense of urgency, strong communication skills, attention to detail, good task management, resourceful, agile, ability to maintain strict confidentiality, and open to learning.
  • Able to make quick, objective and logical decisions on matters relating to the purchases in the best interest of the company.
  • Procurement certifications will be an advantage.
  • Can work with minimal supervision and is a team player.
  • Willing to work in Bagumbayan (Bicutan) – Taguig City.
