As a Senior Payroll Specialist, you’ll play a pivotal role in tackling advanced and complex payroll issues, bringing your expertise and independent judgment to the forefront. This dynamic position not only involves supporting critical HR payroll processes but also offers the opportunity to gain insights into the entire payroll group’s performance, service delivery, and operational goals. You will ensure that all employees receive their compensation accurately and on time, while also providing invaluable support to employees, managers, HR Business Partners, and HR Shared Services. Leveraging your regional expertise throughout the hire-to-retire process, you'll work within a global policy framework to deliver exceptional service. Additionally, you’ll collaborate with leadership to efficiently manage and distribute workloads, driving operational excellence in every aspect of payroll functions. What The Role Offers
- You are responsible for processing payroll for a specific country assigned to you. You provide general payroll support and collaborate with colleagues across HR, Variable Compensation, and Finance throughout the payroll process in various regions. Your role is to effectively represent the team in any assigned process improvement initiatives.
- You ensure the smooth delivery of day-to-day payroll operations and take on a deputy lead support role in efforts related to HR Shared Services metrics, audits, trend analysis, and formulating recommendations for the HRSS Leader. You continuously strive for operational excellence by creating opportunities for process improvements and enhancing customer service and experience.
- You manage end-to-end projects, assess existing programs and processes, and help develop new initiatives aimed at increasing efficiency, quality, and reducing waste. Additionally, you design corporate mobility policies and guidelines, overseeing programs that facilitate employee relocations and expatriate assignments.
- You assist in planning, organizing, and determining the workload of the team, communicating these plans to management for evaluation and approval. You provide subject matter expertise in the end-to-end HR payroll process for critical tasks, with a strong focus on delivering high-quality service in a timely manner.
- You closely monitor interface processes between core HR and payroll systems and actively identify opportunities to educate the team. You assist with the onboarding and training of new Tier 2 team members, maintain and update training content in the knowledge base tool, and mentor junior staff to maximize their performance and potential.
What You Need To Succeed
- You possess extensive experience in HR Shared Services (HRSS), including payroll processing and regulatory compliance. You proactively identify and evaluate problems, seeking to determine their root causes. You are change-oriented and adept at managing conflict resolution. As a self-starter, you take the initiative in your work.
- You have the ability to follow established processes while focusing on optimization for continuous improvement. You thrive in high-growth, fast-paced environments and can adapt to changes in business demands with agility. Your exceptional customer service skills are complemented by your excellent organizational, planning, and time management abilities. You are effective at managing multiple priorities under tight deadlines, capable of prioritizing conflicting demands and organizing your time and resources to deliver consistent results.
- Your strong verbal and written communication skills emphasize customer experience and demonstrate excellent attention to detail. You have a proven record in managing vendor relationships and building effective connections, sharing best practices across Regional Centers. Your strong analytical skills enable you to make sound decisions and provide practical recommendations.
- You possess a solid technical aptitude and a strong understanding of HR systems, which you apply to enhance the efficiency of HR operations. Knowledge of SAP/SuccessFactors is an asset. You have experience with the end-to-end "From Hire to Retire" process in the Asia-Pacific Japan (APJ) region and/or India, including HR core functions, compensation and benefits administration, and payroll processing, with a focus on process improvement and compliance with employment laws and regulations.
- You exhibit a high level of personal integrity and a passion for excellence. You are fully competent in Microsoft Office programs, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
