Description
Our client is seeking a Senior Accountant, *someone who has onshore Australian experience -responsible for providing high-quality client delivery work, all while hitting quarterly revenue targets and output points.
Accounting Service Delivery
- Independently manage 12–30 client relationships with minimal supervision, owning all communication and knowing when to appropriately escalate complex issues to client managers.
- Proactively identify process improvements and efficiency opportunities for each client’s accounting workflow, regularly recommending appropriate technology integrations and system enhancements.
- Consistently meet or exceed quarterly revenue targets and productivity metrics as established by the Head of Launch.
- Maintain detailed documentation of all tasks and accomplishments in Asana and Slack, with clear daily updates to the coach/supervisor.
- Demonstrate reliability and professionalism in all team interactions, meetings, and client communications.
- Pursue ongoing professional development in both technical accounting skills and client relationship management.
Essential Responsibilities & Outcomes
- Deliver comprehensive end-to-end accounting support to clients with minimal oversight, including:
- Setting up sophisticated accounting structures for new businesses across various industries, including SaaS, Marketplaces & e-commerce
- Managing full-cycle bookkeeping with attention to detail and accuracy
- Performing bank and credit card reconciliations with 100% accuracy
- Processing accounts payable/receivable efficiently and on schedule
- Administering payroll processing and compliance
- Preparing and reviewing BAS and IAS documentation for submission
- Offering basic financial insights and recommendations to clients to provide a ‘proactive’ service and the ability to upsell services.
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum 3–5 years of bookkeeping or accounting experience
- Demonstrated proficiency with Xero
- Proven experience managing multiple clients simultaneously (portfolio of 10+ clients)
- Strong technical knowledge of Australian accounting standards
- Experience with accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll processing
- Excellent attention to detail with the ability to identify and resolve discrepancies
- Strong communication skills in English, both written and verbal
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- History of successfully working in remote team environments
