Description
- Review project plans, specifications, and related documents to prepare comprehensive and accurate cost estimates.
- Analyze labor, materials, equipment, and time requirements for projects.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, architects, and clients to understand project scope and requirements.
- Source and obtain competitive quotes from suppliers and subcontractors.
- Develop and present detailed cost breakdowns for internal review and client proposals.
- Participate in pre-bid meetings and site visits to better understand project conditions and constraints.
- Identify and assess potential risks and incorporate appropriate contingencies into estimates.
- Track and update cost data and maintain a historical database for future reference.
- Assist in value engineering and cost-saving opportunities.
- Support the handover process from estimating to project execution teams.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Finance, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Strong understanding of estimating techniques, construction methods, and project lifecycles.
- Proficiency in estimating software
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and time-management skills.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills.
