Description

The Line Cook oversees preparing food and setting up other necessary supplies. They make sure everything has been set up correctly before starting work. They use specialized kitchen tools to prepare essential ingredients and create a finished product for restaurants.


  • Responsible for preparing and cooking food items as per the menu and specific recipes.
  • This includes tasks such as chopping vegetables, marinating meats, and cooking various components of dishes.
  • Sets up their designated station with all necessary ingredients, utensils, and equipment required for the shift.
  • This involves ensuring that all ingredients are properly portioned and organized for efficient cooking.
  • Must be proficient in various cooking techniques, including grilling, sautéing, frying, baking, and others, depending on the menu requirements.
  • Maintains high standards of food quality and consistency by following proper cooking methods, portion control, and presentation guidelines.
  • Works in a fast-paced environment, often under pressure, to ensure that food orders are prepared and served in a timely manner, coordinating with other kitchen staff to meet service deadlines.
  • Follows to food safety guidelines and sanitation procedures to prevent foodborne illnesses and maintain a clean and hygienic kitchen environment.
  • Communicates effectively with other kitchen staff, including chefs, expeditors, and servers, to coordinate orders, relay special requests, and ensure smooth workflow during service.
  • Requires working on different stations within the kitchen, depending on staffing needs and their skill level, so flexibility and versatility are important

Requirements

  • 1- 3 years of experience
  • Diploma required
