We are seeking a talented and experienced Full-Stack Software Developer to architect and build a revolutionary cloud-based accounting software from the ground up. This product is designed for Australian businesses and accountants, automating financial data aggregation and streamlining compliance.

The ideal candidate will be proficient in creating secure, intuitive financial applications and must have hands-on experience with Open Banking API integrations, specifically Basiq. You will be instrumental in developing a platform that offers a seamless user experience for comprehensive income, expense, and financial reporting.

• End-to-End Development: Lead the design, development, testing, and deployment of both the front-end and back-end components of our new web-based accounting platform.
• Open Banking & API Integration: Develop robust and secure integrations with Australian financial institutions using Open Banking APIs, with a strong focus on the Basiq platform, to automate bank transaction feeds and financial data synchronization.
• UI/UX Implementation: Collaborate with designers to transform wireframes into a clean, responsive, and intuitive user interface that simplifies complex accounting tasks for a variety of users.
• Core Feature Development: Build and implement key software features, including:
• A secure user login and multi-level authentication system.
• Automated tracking and categorization for all types of income and expenses.
• A comprehensive dashboard for real-time financial insights and cash flow tracking.
• Generation of key reports for Australian BAS, GST, and tax preparation.
• A secure document management hub for receipts and invoices.
• Security & Compliance: Implement and maintain the highest standards of data security, including encryption and access controls, ensuring compliance with relevant Australian data protection and financial regulations.

Qualifications and Skills

• Proven experience as a Full-Stack Developer or similar role, with a strong portfolio of launched projects. Experience in financial or accounting software (SaaS) is highly advantageous.
• Technical Proficiency (Must-Haves):
• Frontend: Strong skills in modern frameworks like React, Angular, or Vue.js.
• Backend: Proficiency in server-side languages and frameworks such as Node.js, Python/Django, or .NET Core.
• Database: Experience with database design and management using SQL (PostgreSQL, MySQL) or NoSQL databases.
• Cloud Infrastructure: Hands-on experience with AWS, Google Cloud Platform, or Microsoft Azure.
• Critical Specialized Skills:
• Demonstrable experience with RESTful API integration.
• Direct, hands-on experience with the Basiq API or similar Open Banking platforms is a significant advantage.
• A strong understanding of UI/UX best practices with a passion for creating user-friendly applications.
• Highly Desirable:
• Familiarity with Australian accounting principles, GST, and BAS.
• Knowledge of security standards and best practices for handling sensitive financial data (e.g., ISO 27001, SOC 2).
