Position Title Cybersecurity Engineer

Reporting Relationships

Reports to IT Operations Head / Security Operations Center Head

Job Summary

The Cybersecurity Engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing, and

maintaining security measures to protect our network, systems, and data. This role

involves collaborating with other IT teams, conducting security assessments, responding

to incidents, and contributing to the overall improvement of our security posture.

Duties & Responsibilities

1. Design, implement, and maintain security solutions, including firewalls, intrusion

detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS), endpoint protection, SIEM, and

vulnerability scanning tools.

2. Conduct security assessments and penetration testing to identify vulnerabilities

and recommend appropriate mitigation strategies.

3. Monitor security systems and logs to detect and respond to security incidents.

4. Investigate security incidents and breaches, performing root cause analysis and

implementing corrective actions.

5. Develop and maintain security policies, procedures, and standards.

6. Collaborate with other IT teams to ensure security is integrated into all aspects of

the IT infrastructure.

7. Stay up-to-date on the latest security threats, vulnerabilities, and technologies.

8. Provide security awareness training to employees.

9. Participate in security audits and compliance efforts.

10. Automate security tasks and processes where possible.

11. Research and evaluate new security technologies and solutions.

12. Contribute to the development and implementation of a comprehensive security

strategy.

13. Provides relevant content to update information security posters, reminders,

awareness write ups.

14. Protects sensitive data from unauthorized access, use, or disclosure. Implements

data loss prevention (DLP) and encryption solutions. Ensures compliance with

data privacy regulations

15. Reports to the Head of IT and Security Operations.

16. The Cybersecurity Engineer should report on site.

Job Specifications

Minimum Education Required

College graduate preferably computer/IT related

course

Minimum Relevant Experience

Required

At least 5 years working experience in Information

Security, 3+ years in Cybersecurity Architecture and

Engineering

Other competencies, skills,

licensure required

1. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science,

Information Security, or a related field.

2. 3+ years of experience in cybersecurity

engineering or a related role.

3. Strong understanding of security principles and

best practices.

4. Experience with various security tools and

technologies, including firewalls, IDS/IPS,

endpoint protection, SIEM, and vulnerability

scanning tools.

5. Knowledge of network protocols and security.

6. Experience with operating systems (Windows,

Linux) and security hardening.

7. Familiarity with cloud security (AWS, Azure, GCP)

is a plus.

8. Experience with scripting languages (e.g., Python,

Bash) is a plus.

9. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

10.Strong communication and collaboration skills.

11. Relevant certifications (e.g., Security+, CEH) are

preferred.
