Summary: This profile outlines the desired skills and experience for a Networking Support Engineer, enabling teams to effectively identify and recruit qualified candidates. Ideal candidates should possess extensive networking experience with a strong emphasis on customer-facing skills, troubleshooting, and a deep understanding of both traditional and cloud-based networking technologies. They should be capable of handling a variety of support tasks, from basic troubleshooting to complex network issues, and possess a unique blend of technical skills, hands-on experience, and customer service abilities to support complex networking environments. Certifications: - CCNA, CCNP, CCIE, KCNA, CKA, RHCE or equivalent certifications will be advantageous. Qualifications: - Networking Experience: 3+ years of experience in Networking. - Infrastructure Implementation: Experience in implementing both on-premise and cloud based infrastructure. - Troubleshooting Experience: +3 years of experience in troubleshooting, diagnosing, and resolving complex issues. - Support Experience: Familiarity with support methodologies, case lifecycles, and analytical skills for breaking down issues. Technical Skills: - Networking Protocols: Deep understanding of networking principles and protocols, including TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, and other routing and switching protocols. - Networking Devices: Experience in design, implementing, administering, and troubleshooting network infrastructure devices (Cisco, Juniper, Arista etc). - Cloud Networking: Hands-on experience with cloud networking solutions, including hybrid/multicloud environments. Proficiency with GCP networking services such as VPC, Cloud Router, Cloud NAT, Cloud Load Balancing, Cloud Interconnect, Cloud DNS, and Cloud Armor. Including understanding of core concepts like virtual networks, firewalls, routing, NAT, load balancing (L7/L4), BGP, DNS resolution, and DDoS protection. - Security Protocols: Knowledge of security best practices for securing network resources and experience with security protocols like VPNs, ASA and FirePower. - Operating Systems: Experience with Linux and Windows. - Monitoring and Logging: Experience with monitoring tools for troubleshooting and performance analysis. - Scripting/Automation: Experience with basic scripting for configuration (Linux/Windows) and troubleshooting (Understanding of calling APIs). - PacketCapture/Analysis: Experience using techniques such as packet-capture/packet-analysis,load testing, and traffic-path analysis to troubleshoot network-latency, packet-loss and performance issues. Expertise in tools usage WireShark, Tcpdump etc. - Web Technologies: Experience in web technologies and troubleshooting (Ex: HTTP/HTTPS, DNS, SSL etc. Minimum 2 year(s) of experience is required
