ROLE SUMMARY

Our client is looking for an organized, detail-loving Tax Data Analyst to support the company’s product team by managing the tax data and creating models that power our tools. You’ll be the go-to person for keeping things accurate and up to date, from IRS interest rates to state tax deadlines to the formulas behind our tax calculations.

This role is ideal for someone with US tax prep experience who thrives on precision, enjoys working with structured data, and wants to help make tax planning smarter and less stressful for business owners and high net worth individuals.

WORK SCHEDULE: 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM Pacific Daylight Time (12:00 AM – 9:00 AM Philippine Standard Time), follows Philippine holidays

POSITION TYPE: Full Time

WORK ARRANGEMENT: Remote

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Keep tax data fresh and accurate and maintain datasets like IRS interest rates, tax brackets, and filing deadlines across all 50 states
• Track and document every update
• Build and maintain tax models
• Help create models that calculate federal and state income taxes based on inputs like income, entity type, and residency
• Run test scenarios to make sure calculations are accurate, even for tricky edge cases
• Work closely with CPAs and the product to validate the logic
• Catch changes before they become problems. Proactively monitor IRS publications and state websites for new updates
• Flag anything important, like new forms, deadlines, or rate changes

QUALIFICATIONS:

• A bachelor’s degree in the related field is preferred
• 3+ years of US tax preparation experience
• Strong understanding of federal and state income tax mechanics
• Excellent attention to detail, especially when reviewing formulas and datasets
• Comfort working in spreadsheets (e.g., Excel, Google Sheets) and other structured formats
• Experience with low-code tools or light scripting for automations is a bonus
• Clear communication skills, especially when explaining technical or rule-based changes
• Analytical skills with particular attention to detail
• Loves structure, systems, and making complex info easier to manage
• Enjoys collaborating with others, but can also work independently with minimal direction
