We are excited to announce an exceptional opportunity for a dynamic individual to join our Innovative Product Support (IPS) team. Our team is composed of dedicated professionals committed to exceeding expectations through the development and enhancement of cutting-edge products for Opus and our clients. The Software Development Manager is an integral part of the IPS team that will be responsible for managing and coaching our team of skilled Software Developers, conducting code reviews, and implementing Opus coding standards and improvements to internal libraries/processes.

A Little About the Role

• Lead and support the growth of our software development team, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous progress.
• Oversee and coordinate the entire software development lifecycle (SDLC), ensuring smooth integration and migration of software components.
• Conduct regular code reviews, enforcing coding standards and best practices to ensure high-quality deliverables.
• Manage and improve test coverage, evaluating and implementing testing strategies to ensure robust and reliable software.
• Execute and manage broad codebase upgrades, ensuring scalability and performance optimization.
• Collaborate with Product Managers to align technical solutions with business goals and client expectations.
• Prepare concise proposals and reports highlighting project progress, milestones, and return on investment.

A Little About You

• Bachelor’s degree, certificate or diploma in relevant field
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in a software development/people management role
• Strong leadership and management skills, with a proven ability to mentor and guide technical teams towards successful project outcomes.
• Proficiency in C# development and experience with Windows Forms and Windows Presentation Foundation applications. VB.Net experience is a plus but less critical.
• Experience with database management systems, such as MySQL or similar technologies.
• Demonstrated ability to enforce coding standards, ensuring consistency and quality across projects.
• Familiarity with web development (PHP, HTML, CSS, Java Script, ASP.net) and Excel are considered an asset
• Knowledge of testing methodologies, with the ability to manage and improve test coverage.
• Excellent communication skills, capable of effectively conveying technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Analytical mindset, adept at troubleshooting complex technical issues and proposing effective solutions.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities and deadlines effectively.
