Bookkeeper
Job Overview: The Bookkeeper is a key financial role responsible for managing cost accounting and general accounting activities within the organization. This position plays a critical part in ensuring accurate financial data, cost analysis, and financial reporting to support decision-making and financial planning.
Key Responsibilities
- Cost Accounting:
- Maintain and update cost accounting records, including product costs, standard costs, and cost variances.
- Analyze production costs and inventory levels to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
- Financial Analysis:
- Prepare cost analysis reports to provide insights into cost drivers, cost trends, and opportunities for cost savings.
- General Accounting:
- Process general accounting transactions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll.
- Perform reconciliations of balance sheet accounts and resolve discrepancies.
- Financial Reporting:
- Assist in the preparation of financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
- Support external audits and ensure compliance with accounting principles and regulations.
- Process Improvement:
- Identify opportunities for process improvements in cost accounting and general accounting procedures.
- Suggest and implement efficiency enhancements and automation where applicable.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Proven experience in cost accounting and general accounting roles, preferably in a manufacturing or similar industry.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel for financial analysis and reporting.
- Solid understanding of accounting principles, financial analysis, and cost accounting methodologies.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in financial data management and analysis.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to interpret financial data and recommend actions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing priorities.
- Knowledge of ERP systems and cost accounting software is a plus.
