Role: Java Developer

Work Arrangement: Work From Home

Schedule: Morning Shift  

• Design and develop small to medium-sized features and bug fixes independently for the company’s platform using Java, with some Groovy, SQL, JavaScript, and CSS.

• Collaborate with a team to build major platform features.

• Develop and customize extensions for customer environments using Java and Groovy.

• Build integrations with customer infrastructure using Apache Camel.

• Write and maintain unit and integration tests using JUnit and Mockito.

• Enhance database schemas using Liquibase.

• Improve build and deployment systems using Ant, Maven, and Gradle.

• Contribute to documentation in the company’s knowledge base using Confluence.

• Track and manage work progress using Jira.

• A strong appreciation for clean, maintainable code and a commitment to continuously improving coding practices.

• 3+ years of commercial experience as a software developer.

• Extensive experience with Java (version 8 and above) and SQL.

• Knowledge of functional programming and writing declarative Java code instead of imperative code.

• Proficiency in dependency injection frameworks such as Guice or Spring.

• Extensive experience with JPA / Hibernate or other ORM frameworks.

• Strong experience in writing unit tests using JUnit and Mockito.

• Experience with Google Web Toolkit (desirable).

• Deep understanding of design patterns and object-oriented principles such as encapsulation and SOLID.

• Experience with build tools such as Ant, Maven, or Gradle.

• Proficiency in working with distributed source control systems such as Mercurial or Git.

• Experience working in a Unix-based shell environment (desirable).

• Familiarity with SQL Server, PostgreSQL, or Oracle (desirable).

• Experience with machine-to-machine communication using SOAP or REST.

• Knowledge of application containers such as Tomcat or Wildfly / JBOSS.
