Duties and Responsibilities of a Truck Driver (Glass Industry)

  1. Transportation of Goods
  • Safely transport glass products, raw materials, and other company items to designated delivery points, clients, and project sites.
  • Ensure timely pickup and delivery schedules are followed.
  1. Loading and Unloading
  • Assist in the careful loading and unloading of glass products, ensuring proper handling to avoid breakage or damage.
  • Secure cargo using appropriate restraints, padding, or protective equipment.
  1. Vehicle Inspection and Maintenance
  • Conduct daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections of assigned vehicles (e.g., checking brakes, tires, oil, lights, and mirrors).
  • Report any mechanical issues or needed repairs to the Logistics/Transport Supervisor immediately.
  • Ensure the truck is kept clean, organized, and in safe operating condition at all times.
  1. Compliance and Safety
  • Follow all traffic rules, road safety regulations, and company driving policies.
  • Ensure adherence to company safety protocols, especially in handling fragile glass materials.
  • Wear proper PPE (e.g., safety shoes, gloves) when handling materials.
  1. Documentation and Reporting
  • Accurately complete delivery receipts, trip tickets, log sheets, and other required transport documents.
  • Collect and submit signed proof of deliveries (PODs) from clients.
  • Report any accidents, delays, or delivery issues immediately to the supervisor.
  1. Coordination and Communication
  • Maintain clear communication with dispatchers, warehouse staff, and clients regarding deliveries.
  • Follow instructions from supervisors and cooperate with checkers/loaders during loading/unloading operations.
  1. Customer Service
  • Represent the company in a professional and courteous manner when dealing with clients and partners.
  • Address client delivery concerns politely and refer issues to management when needed.
  1. Other Duties
  • Assist in warehouse tasks when not assigned to trips, if required.
  • Perform other related duties as may be assigned by the Logistics/Operations Department.


Job Requirements

  • At least High School Graduate or equivalent.
  • Must have a valid Professional Driver’s License (Restriction 2 & 3, or appropriate for company vehicle type).
  • At least 2–3 years of experience as a truck driver; experience in handling fragile or construction-related materials is an advantage.
  • Knowledgeable in basic vehicle troubleshooting and preventive maintenance.
  • Physically fit, with the ability to lift and move heavy materials when required.
  • Strong sense of responsibility, honesty, and dependability.
  • Familiar with local routes, traffic regulations, and delivery documentation.
  • Can work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays when required.
  • Willing to follow company rules, safety policies, and operational procedures.
  • Living in Marilao, Bulacan or nearby places
