A Scaffolder is responsible for assembling, altering, and dismantling scaffolding structures used to support construction, maintenance, and industrial projects. The role involves working at heights, interpreting technical drawings, and ensuring that all scaffolding is safe, stable, and compliant with relevant regulations. Scaffolders work closely with site supervisors and other trades to provide safe access solutions and maintain a secure working environment.


Responsibilities

A Scaffolder is responsible for erecting, modifying, and dismantling scaffolding structures to support construction and maintenance work. They interpret plans, organize materials, and build scaffolds safely and accurately. Scaffolders perform regular inspections, ensure compliance with safety regulations, and maintain a clean, secure work area. They work at heights, use proper PPE, and coordinate with other trades to meet site requirements.


Job Requirements

A scaffolder must be physically fit, comfortable working at heights, and trained in safe scaffolding practices. They need basic education and valid certifications (such as CISRS, CSCS, OSHA, or Working at Heights). Experience in erecting, modifying, and dismantling scaffolding systems is essential, along with the ability to read plans and use tools correctly. Scaffolders must follow strict safety rules, use PPE, and work well as part of a team while solving problems on site.
