THE ROLE

The Programme Delivery Director is the delivery lead responsible for ensuring that all initiatives are delivered successfully; on budget, on time, and at the expected level of quality. In this role, you will guide teams to create innovative digital products and experiences for customers and clients. Excellent communication and organisation skills are essential.

You will work with both internal teams and external clients, guiding them through the design process. This includes collaborating closely with partners and vendors to ensure that all requirements are met.

You will:

• Provide strategic leadership by defining delivery goals, methodologies, and KPIs to ensure long-term success of all programmes
• Oversee multiple programmes (agile/waterfall), managing cross-functional teams to deliver world-class experiences for clients
• Build and nurture key client relationships, acting as a trusted advisor and ensuring alignment with clients’ strategic objectives
• Conduct or oversee scrum ceremonies (stand-ups, backlog prioritisation, sprint planning, review, storytime, etc.)
• Implement governance, toolkits, and processes, enabling design teams to work effectively and efficiently
• Champion new ideas and drive innovation within the organisation, fostering a culture of continuous improvement
• Collect requirements from clients and collaborate with senior stakeholders to outline activities, scope, and deliverables for digital programmes of work
• Set up and optimise tools and platforms (e.g. Figma, Jira, project management workflows) to maximise team productivity and collaboration
• Monitor the health of each programme (time/budget/resource allocation) by tracking metrics, timecards, and deliverables against established KPIs
• Create high-level proposals, pitch decks, and programme documentation, conveying complex ideas and plans with clarity
• Accurately cost programmes using estimation sheets and implement controls that define scope, activities, deliverables, and assumptions for design/build initiatives
• Manage the change request process with clients, balancing commercial, creative, and delivery perspectives
• Create briefs for internal teams to ensure they have complete clarity on programme requirements and objectives
• Perform quality checks on all deliverables before they are shared with the client (designs, backlogs, sprint reports, presentations, etc.)
• Lead stakeholder management, including executive-level communications, meetings, and workshops
• Develop and refine processes to optimise the efficiency and effectiveness of all delivery teams
• Mentor and coach project managers and other team members, promoting professional growth and a high-performance culture
• Schedule meetings, create agendas, take minutes, and track action items to closure, ensuring full transparency and accountability

Requirements

• 8 years as a Project Manager or delivery role on digital projects
• A passion for ensuring things are delivered on time and effectively
• Strong knowledge of experience design and product innovation
• Experience managing UX/UI project (focusing on web/app)
• Experience with backlog creation and management (Jira)
• Good communication skills
• Able to juggle tasks effortlessly
• Capable presenter (internal/external)
• Flawless attention to detail
• Excellent problem solver, able to manage client expectations and resolve any conflicts that arise
