Description

The Payroll and Benefits Officer is responsible for managing and administering payroll processes, benefits programs, and ensuring compliance with labor regulations. This role involves processing accurate and timely payroll, addressing employee inquiries related to compensation and benefits, and contributing to the overall employee experience by managing comprehensive benefits packages.

  • Process and review monthly payroll for all employees, ensuring accuracy and compliance with applicable laws and regulations.

  • Calculate and manage payroll deductions, such as taxes, Social Security, and other statutory deductions.

  • Maintain payroll records, including employee earnings, deductions, and hours worked.

  • Resolve payroll discrepancies and address employee payroll-related inquiries.

  • Administer employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and other benefits.

  • Coordinate enrollment and termination of benefits plans and ensure timely communication to employees.

  • Collaborate with benefits providers to manage claims, resolve issues, and conduct regular benefits audits.

  • Keep abreast of local benefits regulations and recommend adjustments to benefit offerings as needed.

  • Ensure compliance with labor laws, tax regulations, and other statutory requirements related to payroll and benefits.

  • Prepare and submit required government reports and documents, including tax filings and benefits reports.

  • Conduct regular audits of payroll and benefits data to ensure accuracy and compliance.

  • Stay up to date with changes in labor laws and regulations affecting payroll and benefits.

  • Communicate with employees regarding payroll-related matters, including pay schedules, deductions, and tax information.

  • Provide guidance and support to employees in understanding their benefits packages and options.

  • Collaborate with IT to enhance and streamline HRIS and payroll system functionality.
