The Client

A leading operator of food and beverage outlets in travel locations, managing over 100 units across 11 major Australian airports and one rail station. Their portfolio includes a mix of international brands, local favorites, and bespoke concepts designed to enhance the travel dining experience.

The Role

We are looking for a commercially minded Data Scientist to join our team and help us unlock insights that drive smarter procurement decisions and deeper understanding of customer purchasing behaviour. This role will focus on identifying trends, building analytical tools, and supporting strategic initiatives through data analysis across our 100+ venues in Australia and New Zealand.

Key Responsibilities:

• Analyze structured and unstructured data—including customer purchases, POS data, labor, and operational inputs—to uncover patterns, trends, and actionable insights.

• Evaluate customer purchase behavior to identify seasonal preferences, product demand shifts, and pricing sensitivity.

• Provide procurement analytics to support vendor selection, cost reduction, and supply chain optimization.

• Design and develop dashboards and BI tools (e.g., PowerBI, Tableau) for real-time insights and cross-departmental decision-making.

• Build and apply statistical models and forecasting tools to support commercial planning and performance measurement.

• Conduct A/B testing to evaluate business initiatives and translate findings into recommendations.

• Partner with business leaders to define strategic problems and deliver data-backed solutions.

• Support the development of business cases with robust data analysis and clearly articulated recommendations.

Ideal Skills and Qualifications:

• Proficiency in SQL, and either Python or R for data manipulation and statistical analysis.

• Advanced skills in data visualization, particularly using PowerBI.

• Experience working with procurement, POS, and transactional datasets.

• Strong grasp of statistical methods and experience communicating findings through effective data storytelling.

• Demonstrated business acumen and the ability to influence stakeholders through data-driven insights.

• Excellent collaboration and communication skills across technical and non-technical audiences.

Work Schedule:  

• Monday to Friday 7am-4pm PH time

Work Location:
