HeyApril is building an AI-powered tax intelligence platform for creators and agencies.

We’re looking for an AI Engineer who can bridge backend intelligence with engaging, responsive user interfaces.

This role combines AI integration, frontend engineering, and workflow orchestration — helping turn complex tax and financial data into simple, actionable insights.

You’ll work closely with our product, AI, and engineering teams to bring intelligent features to life — from data parsing and LLM integration to interactive dashboards and real-time analytics.

Key Responsibilities

• Build AI workflows for parsing, summarizing, and classifying data from PDFs, emails, and calendar events.
• Implement RAG systems using Supabase pgvector or Pinecone for contextual insights.
• Develop interactive UI components in React/Next.js to visualize AI scores, document insights, and recommendations.
• Integrate with LLMs (GPT, Claude, etc.) for entity extraction, summarization, and Q&A.
• Connect APIs (Gmail, Google Calendar, QuickBooks, Stripe, Plaid) for automated data synchronization.
• Collaborate with backend engineers to define data schemas, caching, and API logic.
• Ensure seamless AI-to-UI integration, turning intelligence outputs into user-facing features.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Strong background in software development and AI-assisted workflows.
• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and UX awareness.
• Highly organized and proactive in a remote or hybrid setup.

Experience

• 2–4 years of experience in AI-assisted, full-stack, or integrations engineering.
• Proficiency in Python (FastAPI, LangChain) and JavaScript/TypeScript (React, Next.js).
• Familiarity with RAG systems, vector databases, Supabase, AWS/GCP, Docker, and CI/CD.
• Bonus: experience with OCR tools, financial data normalization, or dashboard visualization.
