Mid/Senior Software Developer (Healthcare / Compliance-Focused)

Location: Philippines (remote)

Engagement: Full-time, long-term

Overlap: Partial Eastern Time (ET) daily

Team: Working with PM, QA, and U.S. product team

Overview

ITP Tek builds healthcare-focused software modules for home care agencies—including billing, scheduling, EVV, compliance, and operational tooling.

We are expanding our offshore engineering team in the Philippines and are looking for experienced developers who write reliable, maintainable, testable code and can work effectively within a structured QA and sprint workflow.

This is not an entry-level role. We need developers who have shipped real production systems, understand data integrity, and can operate in a domain where reliability and auditability are non-negotiable.

You will collaborate closely with a Project Manager, QA engineer, and U.S.-based stakeholders to build new features, improve system stability, and support ongoing product enhancements.

Responsibilities

Software Development

  • Design, implement, and maintain high-quality backend or full-stack application code.
  • Build new product modules and enhance existing systems used by home care agencies.
  • Work with PM and product team to break down requirements into technical tasks.
  • Deliver code that is testable, observable, and stable across releases.
  • Participate in code reviews and maintain coding standards.

Data Integrity & Reliability

  • Write code with a strong focus on correctness, traceability, and auditability.
  • Ensure proper error handling, logging, and data validation.
  • Support secure data flows for healthcare-related and operational data.

QA Collaboration

  • Provide clear acceptance criteria and dev notes for QA.
  • Address defects with proper root cause analysis, not temporary fixes.
  • Build features that can pass consistent regression testing.
  • Support a culture where QA is a core lifecycle step.

Sprint Execution & Workflow

  • Work within a ticket-driven lifecycle (Jira / Monday.com / Paymo).
  • Update tickets accurately from development → QA → deployment.
  • Communicate blockers early and clearly.
  • Ensure work does not roll forward without accountability.

Communication & Time Overlap

  • Join daily standups and have consistent ET-morning availability.
  • Collaborate with the PM and U.S.-based team as needed for clarifications.
  • Provide timely responses based on agreed communication expectations.

Requirements

Experience

  • 3–5+ years of professional software development experience (full-stack OR backend-focused).
  • Must have shipped and supported production applications.
  • Experience in healthcare, fintech, insurance, or other regulated environments is a strong plus.
  • Experience working in teams with formal QA processes (manual or automated).
  • Prior work in SaaS or multi-module systems is beneficial.

Technical Skills

  • Strong proficiency in one or more backend languages (Node.js, .NET, Java, Python, etc.).
  • Experience with modern frontend frameworks (React, Vue, Angular) for full-stack roles.
  • Solid understanding of relational databases (SQL, Postgres, SQL Server, MySQL).
  • Familiarity with API design, integration patterns, and clean architecture principles.
  • Comfortable using Git, CI/CD pipelines, and structured development workflows.

Mindset & Work Style

  • Process-driven, reliable, and attentive to detail.
  • Comfortable with structured QA, regression cycles, and documentation.
  • Consistent, professional communication with remote teams.
  • Highly accountable—able to self-manage tasks while integrating into the team.
  • Values stability, correctness, and long-term maintainability over quick shortcuts.

Bonus Skills (Nice to Have)

  • Experience with healthcare billing, EVV, scheduling, or compliance tools.
  • Exposure to HIPAA-aligned processes, PHI handling, or similar data requirements.
  • Experience in environments requiring audit logs, traceability, or regulated workflows.
  • Familiarity with testing frameworks or basic automation (helpful but not required).
  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
