The Opportunity
We're seeking a brilliant Senior Financial Analyst to join us as our first hire in the Philippines, working remotely to support a portfolio of Australian SMEs. Responsibilities
- Execute advanced bookkeeping, bank reconciliations, and month-end accounting entries for Australian SMEs, identifying trends and optimization opportunities.
- Process payroll with precision, ensuring compliance with Australian taxation, superannuation, and statutory obligations while analyzing variances for strategic improvements.
- Manage receivables, payables, and BAS (Business Activity Statement) preparation, and exposure to financial models to enhance client cash flow and compliance.
- Design scalable finance processes, leveraging technology to solve complex operational challenges and drive efficiency across multiple clients.
- Partner with Australian businesses, delivering professional, customer-facing support and actionable insights to influence high-stakes decisions.
Requirements
Professional Background (Non-Negotiable)
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field with Honours from a Philippine university
- Qualified CPA in the Philippines - you must be a licensed Certified Public Accountant
- 2-3 years of experience in a Big 4 accounting firm, large corporation finance team, or reputable accounting practice
- Strong academic performance demonstrating analytical capability and work ethic
- Minimum 1 year in each previous role (showing commitment and follow-through)
Technical Excellence
- Solid understanding of accounting principles and financial processes
- Experience with month-end close, reconciliations, and financial reporting
- Advanced skills in Excel and Google Sheets (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, formulas)
- Experience with accounting software (any system - we'll train you on Xero)
- Quick learner with technology - comfortable mastering new systems
- Eagerness to master Australian financial systems and compliance requirements

- Excellent written and verbal English communication - you can explain financial concepts clearly to non-finance clients
