Job Description

Country Operations Manager (Philippines)

Location: Remote (Must be currently residing in the Philippines)

Language: Native Vietnamese & Professional English

Reports to: CEO / Board of Directors (Vietnam HQ)

WHY THIS ROLE EXISTS

TeenUp is an emotional AI and education ecosystem for families, backed by top-tier VCs (Iterative, Acumen). As we expand into the Philippines, we are seeking a Vietnamese professional currently living in the Philippines to act as our strategic bridge.

This role exists to own the entire Philippine operation. You will be the "Mini-CEO" on the ground, ensuring that our Student-First mindset is localized effectively while maintaining a direct, seamless connection with our Vietnam Headquarters.

WHAT YOU OWN (Non-Negotiable)

1. Remote Country Infrastructure

  • Build from Scratch: Lead the "Zero-to-One" phase, including local recruitment, remote team onboarding, and operational budgeting.
  • SOP Excellence: Standardize and localize Standard Operating Procedures to ensure the Philippine "machine" runs smoothly without constant HQ intervention.
  • Compliance: Ensure all activities align with local Philippine labor laws and educational regulations.

2. Academic Quality & Localization

  • Performance Accountability: Own the KPIs for student attendance and parent satisfaction (CSAT) across the PH market.
  • Mentor Management: Lead a team of local Filipino mentors, ensuring they deliver Sex Education (CSE) programs that are culturally sensitive yet high-impact.
  • Outcome Tracking: Ensure measurable student progress is recorded and reported consistently.

3. Strategic Growth & Stakeholder Bridge

  • The "Bridge": Act as the primary liaison between Vietnam HQ and the Philippine local team, translating global strategy into local action.
  • Partnership Development: Identify and secure collaborations with local schools, NGOs, and community leaders to drive user acquisition.

WHAT YOU DO DAY-TO-DAY

  • Management: Lead weekly syncs with local PH department heads (Sales, CS, Academic) and report directly to the Board in Vietnam.
  • Problem Solving: Resolve local friction points (from payroll nuances to cultural misunderstandings) using a systems-thinking approach.
  • Data-Driven Review: Monitor the operational dashboard. If sign-ups or attendance rates dip, you diagnose and fix the root cause immediately.
  • Culture Building: Foster a high-performance, bias-for-action startup culture within a remote team environment.

WHO YOU ARE

  • The Cultural Liaison: You are a Vietnamese native who has lived in the Philippines long enough to navigate its business landscape, social nuances, and "hugot" culture.
  • The Remote Pro: You are highly self-disciplined and an expert in remote collaboration tools (Slack, G-Suite, Notion, Zoom).
  • The Executioner: You hate "vibes" and love "data." You take 100% accountability for the market's success or failure.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Nationality: Vietnamese (Currently residing and working legally in the Philippines).
  • Experience: 3–5+ years in Operations Management, Project Management, or Academic Leadership (Experience in EdTech, BPO, or Startups is a major plus).
  • Language: Native Vietnamese and Professional English (Fluency in Tagalog is a significant advantage).
  • Market Knowledge: Practical understanding of Philippine recruitment, labor culture, and school systems.
  • Availability: Ability to work flexible hours to sync with both Vietnam HQ and the Philippine local school schedules.

HOW PERFORMANCE IS MEASURED

  1. Market Launch & Stability: Success of the remote setup and team integration.
  2. Operational Health: Attendance rates and CSAT scores in the PH market.
  3. Growth Support: Success rate of local partnerships and user acquisition.
  4. Team Retention: Performance quality and retention of the local Filipino staff.

RECRUITMENT PROCESS

  • Round 1: CV Review (Focusing on "Builder" experience in PH).
  • Round 2: HR Screening (Cultural & Language fit).
  • Round 3: The Stress Test. A deep-dive strategic session with the CEO/Board regarding a real-world PH expansion case study.
