Description

A "checker" involves ensuring the accuracy and quality of goods or information. This can range from verifying the contents of a shipment in a warehouse to ensuring products meet quality standards in a manufacturing setting. Responsibilities include inspecting, counting, and recording materials or products, as well as identifying and reporting any discrepancies or defects. 

Requirements

  • Education:
  • High school diploma or equivalent is usually required. 
  • Some roles may prefer a bachelor's degree in logistics, business administration, or a related field. 
  • Experience in a relevant field can also be valuable. 
  • Skills:
  • Attention to detail: Crucial for verifying accuracy and identifying discrepancies. 
  • Basic math and recording abilities: Essential for counting, measuring, and verifying quantities. 
  • Communication skills: Needed for interacting with colleagues, supervisors, and potentially customers. 
  • Computer proficiency: Basic computer skills are often required, especially for using inventory management systems or POS systems. 
  • Physical ability: Some roles, like warehouse checkers, require the ability to stand and walk for extended periods and potentially lift or move items.
