About the Role

At Equity Tech, we’re building innovative and scalable web and mobile platforms for clients across Australia and internationally. As our Web Developer, you’ll be responsible for creating high-quality, responsive digital experiences—from customer-facing websites and email templates to internal portals and UI components.

This role offers exposure to diverse projects, collaboration in a supportive Agile team, and the opportunity to contribute to our design systems, performance standards, and accessibility practices.

What You’ll Do

• Build and maintain responsive websites and web apps using HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, React
• Customize and extend WordPress themes and plugins
• Translate design mock-ups into functional, mobile-first web pages
• Integrate RESTful APIs and third-party services
• Conduct testing, debugging, and code reviews to ensure quality and performance
• Optimize web performance (lazy loading, caching, responsive images, etc.)
• Collaborate with designers, product owners, and backend engineers in an Agile environment
• Design and build HTML email templates & signatures for campaigns

• 2–5 years of professional web development experience
• Proficiency in HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript (ES6+) and modern frameworks (React, Next.js, or Vue)
• Experience with WordPress (theme/plugin development)
• Familiarity with Git, GitHub/GitLab, and CI/CD tools (GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps)
• Strong understanding of cross-browser compatibility, accessibility (WCAG), and responsive design
• Experience with testing tools (Jest, Cypress, Playwright) is a plus
• Degree in Web Development, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience)
• Portfolio or code samples showcasing responsive websites, apps, or campaigns
