Description

The AVP, Human Resources is responsible for the effective delivery of HR services in Aboitiz Foods - Agribusiness Philippines. This includes providing strategic and operational HR support across hiring, employee engagement, performance management, learning and development, labor relations, and total rewards. The role also leads the planning and implementation of HR initiatives aligned with business goals, ensures operational excellence, and fosters a performance-driven culture. The AVP reports to the FVP, Country Director of Agribusiness Philippines, with a dotted line to the VP, HR Philippines and serves as a key advisor to senior leadership on HR matters.


Key Responsibilities:

HR/PX Strategy & Operations

  • Aligns HR/PX strategies with organizational objectives; leads initiatives in engagement, retention, talent management, compensation, and organizational development.
  • Manages core HR/PX operations including recruitment, performance management, staff development, compensation, and change implementation.
  • Develops and improves HR/PX systems, policies, and procedures in line with Food Group HR strategy; ensures legal and policy compliance.
  • Advises management and business units on HR/PX best practices and provides technical support and guidance.
  • Leads Site HR/PX teams to function as independent business partners that add value to the organization.

Talent Management

  • Promotes continuous learning and staff development aligned with strategic goals and succession planning.
  • Evaluates and develops talent, identifies high-potential employees, and leads hiring procedures for senior positions.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Partners with C&B to design benefits programs, manage pay structures, and oversee incentive schemes.
  • Implements performance management systems and monitors pay practices for effectiveness and cost control.

Employer Branding

  • Champions employer branding initiatives to attract and retain top talent.

Reporting & Compliance

  • Prepares HR/PX reports as needed; ensures compliance with legal requirements; stays updated on industry trends.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in HR Management, Business, or Organizational Development; Master’s or MBA preferred
  • At least 10 years of HRBP experience, including 5 years in a managerial role
  • Proven experience in a matrix organization and multi-location set-up
  • Comfortable with extensive travel and operational immersion
  • Strong relationship management and resilient in high-pressure environments
  • Fast-paced, detail-oriented, and proactive in managing structure-heavy organizations
