Description

Maintaining Financial Records:
Staff accountants are responsible for accurately recording all financial transactions, updating the general ledger, and ensuring that all financial data is up-to-date and organized.
Preparing Financial Statements:
They prepare various financial statements, such as balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
Reconciling Accounts:
Staff accountants reconcile bank statements, credit card statements, and other accounts to identify and resolve any discrepancies.
Assisting with Audits:
They gather and prepare documentation for both internal and external audits, ensuring that the company's financial records are accurate and compliant with regulations.
Preparing Tax Returns:
Staff accountants may assist with the preparation and filing of various tax returns, including income tax, sales tax, and property tax.
Ensuring Compliance:
Staff accountants ensure that all financial transactions and reporting adhere to relevant accounting principles, such as GAAP, and company policies.
Other Duties:
Depending on the company, staff accountants may also be involved in tasks such as processing accounts payable and receivable, managing payroll, and preparing invoices.

Requirements

Attention to detail and accuracy
Practical with good problem solving skills
Able to work independently and with a team
Efficient time management and able to handle multiple tasks
At least 4-6 years experience in accounting/bookkeeping
At least 1-2 years experience in accounting supervisory role
Knowledgeable in basic accounting principles and procedures: (Journal entries, general and financial statements)
Experience in financial reporting: (Book of accounts, computation and filing of income TAX, VAT, WC, WE, SSS, Philhealth, Pag-ibig, Payroll, etc.)
Proficiency in MS Excel (pivot table, etc.)
Proficiency with accounting software is a plus
