About the position

            As the 4PL Control Tower Supervisor, you'll be at the forefront of orchestrating the global logistics operations. Your role is pivotal in maintaining supply chain visibility, ensuring seamless service delivery, and leading a team of skilled operators at different locations. Your expertise will be crucial in managing customer shipments across various geographies, maintaining high service standards, and proactively resolving operational challenges.



Key Tasks:

  • Oversee day-to-day operations, including forecast planning, shipment management, and performance monitoring.

  • Actively monitor all shipments, proactively addressing and preventing irregularities.

  • Lead escalations with senior management, agreeing on and ensuring the execution of resolution strategies.

  • Communicate proactively with customers about irregularities, offering alternative solutions and corrective actions.

  • Ensure system data quality across the network, taking action if operational guidelines are unmet.

  • Collaboratively plan capacity needs with relevant stakeholders.

  • Act as the primary operational liaison with internal teams and key customer stakeholders.

  • Timely and accurately prepared customer-required shipment and invoicing reports.

  • Ensure consistent service execution according to agreed customer SLAs and SOPs.

  • Manage the implementation of new lanes and services, including training and SOP updates.

  • Oversee special project execution, coordinating with product and operation teams.

  • Update rate cards for new lanes, managing billing and freight audit processes.

  • Build and maintain operational customer relationships for daily operations.

  • Work closely with the customer key account manager to retain and grow business.

  • Drive continuous improvement programs to optimize service and reduce costs.

  • Support the claims handling process with internal stakeholders.

  • Provide monthly market condition overviews and analyses impacting customer business.

  • Team Lead Tasks:

    Lead the control tower team to ensure operational excellence across all geographies and products.

  • Conduct daily briefings to align the team on priorities, critical shipments, and escalation statuses.   



Skills and Competencies:

  • Extensive operational freight forwarding experience in air and sea freight.

  • Proficiency in dangerous goods and cold chain handling.

  • In-depth knowledge of customs procedures, embargoes, and trade compliance globally.

  • Exceptional communication skills with the ability to engage senior management effectively.

  • Cross-functional leadership skills to drive operational priorities across global/regional/country teams.

  • Decision-making capabilities with accountability, managing risks while demonstrating managerial courage.

  • Strong analytical, conceptualization, and problem-solving abilities.

  • Capacity to work under pressure and handle tight deadlines.

  • If required, able to work in different shifts.

 

Educational Background / Work experience:

  • University / Bachelor's degree in international logistics or freight forwarding 

  • 9 years of work experience 

  • 2 years of experience in operation and account management

  • International working experience preferred

 

Language Skills:

  • Fluent in English (written and spoken)

  • Other languages (written and spoken) beneficial

 

Computer Literacy:

  • Microsoft Office

  • Microsoft Excel – advanced skills

  • PowerBI

  • To work alongside an AI system and prompting knowledge is a plus.
