Job Title: System Administrator (with CCNP/CCIE-Level Networking Expertise)

Pay Rate: $15.00–$18.00 US Dollars per hour

Responsibilities

As a senior-level contractor, you will play a key role in ensuring the availability, performance, and security of hybrid infrastructure across multiple client environments.

Core Duties:

• Administer, maintain, and troubleshoot Windows and Linux servers, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, GPOs, and core services.

• Manage virtualization platforms (VMware, Hyper-V, Proxmox) and cloud tools (Azure AD, Intune, O365, AWS).

• Configure and support complex enterprise networks, including Cisco routers, switches, and firewalls.

• Operate and manage firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, and multi-tenant security appliances.

• Monitor and optimize systems and networks; enforce QoS, segmentation, and VLAN configurations.

• Participate in MSSP operations: threat detection, incident response, log collection, and SIEM integrations.

• Oversee backup systems, patch management, and disaster recovery compliance.

• Collaborate with SOC, NOC, and cross-functional teams to deliver reliable, secure services.

• Develop technical documentation, runbooks, and contribute to knowledge base repositories.

• Participate in on-call rotations for after-hours escalations or incidents.

Required Qualifications

Experience:

• 7+ years in enterprise system administration and advanced networking

• Background in MSSP, MSP, or enterprise IT/security operations

• Experience supporting hybrid environments (on-prem + cloud)

Technical Skills:

• System Administration: AD, GPO, DNS, DHCP, IIS, patching, backups

• Virtualization: VMware, Hyper-V, or Proxmox

• Cloud: Azure AD, Intune, O365, AWS

• Networking: CCNP/CCIE-level knowledge (BGP, OSPF, VLANs, ACLs, QoS)

• Firewalls/VPNs: Cisco ASA/Firepower, Palo Alto, Fortinet (or similar)

• Security Tools: Endpoint protection, SIEM, IDS/IPS, vulnerability scanning

• Compliance: Familiarity with NIST, ISO 27001, CIS benchmarks

Soft Skills:

• Clear and confident communication in English (spoken and written)

• Exceptional analytical and troubleshooting skills

• Self-managed with strong accountability

• Able to work independently while collaborating virtually with global teams

• Excellent technical writing and documentation ability

Certifications

Required:

• CCNP or CCIE (Enterprise, Security, or Service Provider track)

Preferred:

• Microsoft Certified: Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Associate or Azure Administrator Associate

• Security+ (CISSP or CISM a plus)

• ITIL v4 Foundation

Engagement Notes

• This is a contractor role under Star Nursing, Inc.

• Star Nursing handles all payroll, benefits (including HMO + Death Benefit), and international support.

• Level 4 MSSP Corp. is responsible for orientation, HIPAA/security training, NDA issuance, and ongoing evaluation.

• Annual performance reviews are conducted by Star Nursing, with any rate increase decisions initiated by Level 4 based on productivity and business needs.

• The position is contracted with Star Nursing and subcontracted to Level 4. All pay rates and communications regarding benefits remain with Star Nursing HR.
