Internal Auditor

The Head of Internal Audit leads the internal audit department. They design the annual risk-based audit plan, evaluate financial and operational controls, ensure compliance with laws, and report directly to the board of directors or audit committee to safeguard company assets and reduce risk.

Key Responsibilities

• Audit Planning: Design and execute a risk-based annual audit plan.
• Risk Management: Evaluate internal controls, governance processes, and operational efficiency.
• Reporting: Present clear audit findings, risk exposures, and recommendations to senior management and the audit committee.
• Team Leadership: Hire, train, and manage internal audit staff.
• Compliance Oversight: Ensure adherence to regulatory standards, company policies, and legal guidelines.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Experience: 15+ years in accounting, finance, or internal auditing, with management experience.
• Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in accounting, finance, or business administration.
• Certifications: Professional credentials such as CIA (Certified Internal Auditor) or CPA / CA are strongly preferred.
• Competencies: Strong leadership, objective judgment, and deep knowledge of risk assessment principles.
